How to choose a reliable seller on 1688 and Taobao
The same product is often sold by dozens of shops on Chinese platforms. Price isn’t the only thing that matters.
Look at the shop, not just the product
- how long the shop has been open;
- buyer ratings and reviews, especially with photos;
- how many units are already sold;
- whether the shop answers questions.
Compare 2–3 offers
A price far below the others deserves a closer look: a different material, a smaller size or a clearance batch.
Check the minimum order
Many 1688 sellers have a minimum batch. For one or two pieces, Taobao is sometimes better.
Warehouse photos
When the item arrives, the warehouse checks and photographs it. If details matter, order extra photos before shipping.
